Concert Preview: The Glitch Mob

October 21, 2014

Screen Shot 2014-10-21 at 4.34.32 PML.A.-based group The Glitch Mob has been pumping out futuristic, hip-hop influenced electronica since 2006. The group was originally formed by five DJs: edIT, Boreta, Kraddy, Kitty-D and Ooah, and is associated with the new wave of L.A. electronica that came out in the late 2000s. The trio only released its debut album, Drink the Sea, in 2009 after Kraddy and Kitty-D left the group.

The Glitch Mob’s most recent album, Love Death Immortality, was released in 2014 and debuted at number one on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The album was created with an intentionality not often found in dance-music singles: It’s designed to be listened to from start to finish, “taking the listener on an aural voyage process.” Check them out this Thursday Oct. 23rd at Stage AE with The M Machine and Chrome Sparks.
